The ACM Approach to Midterms

Hi Everyone, Liane here.

At any other place of higher education, midterms are a time for high stress, overloaded schedules  with deadlines for papers, and of course the tests which can count for a huge portion of your final grade. In other words, midterms on campus are dreadful.

ACM does midterms differently. Don't get me wrong... We still have assignments due throughout the week for our seminar classes, are hard at work developing our independent study projects, and intern two days per week.

However, we get to dodge the traditional midterm hell by attending a show at The Second City Comedy Club!

On Tuesday night, everyone from the program was treated to the show An Incomplete Guide to Everything. It was hysterical from start to end. In fact, my face legitimately hurt from laughing so much.

Before the show, I went with a group of my classmates to dinner in Old Town. We ended up being at eating at Corcoran's Pub and Grill. The exterior of the restaurant was so charming it drew us in; and, let me tell you, this was a good find!

Each night there is a food and drink special, and Tuesdays happen to be $6 Pub Burgers! I had been craving a good hamburger recently, and this one went up and above my expectations.

So, while you do forfeit a traditional Spring Break by participating in the ACM Chicago Program; you get to avoid the dreaded midterms, and spend a night laughing so hard your face hurts with some pretty amazing people.
