In core course this week we met with Joe Moore, the alderman of the 49th ward in the city, for those of you who don't know what an alderman is, it is the second most powerful person in the city after the mayor. Chicago has 50 wards which is represented by 50 alderman. Joe Moore is a great guy, we had the chance to ask him questions about his job and his views about the current issues in the city and he made some really interesting points. We went to City Hall and got to see the City Council Chambers, Mayor Rahm's office and the press room :), pretty exciting stuff.
