Well hello there!
The ISP symposium will be held in just a few weeks, which means ISP is in full swing now. I am doing a series of watercolor paintings that explore place around Chicago. Though, silly me, forgot to bring them one day when I was going out. Let me introduce to you all a soy sauce, ginger, wasabi, and some other sort of orange sauce painting while I was out for sushi. Check out this display!
It turned out alright, but I left it there because it was not drying quickly, and it started to smell funky...
My other watercolors are coming along and I hope to have my professional interview with an artist working at SAIC sometime in the next week. Things are starting to get busy, but they become more interesting as the days go.
One of the most interesting things I have done recently was visit the Chicago Cultural Center for Seminar. The architecture was just beautiful there. The Tiffany dome was one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen in a building. We even got to watch a couple practicing ballroom dancing under the dome. Though, Danielle thought they needed a bit more work.
Speaking of Danielle, Nikki and I got her to paint with us one night. I think she did really well and I hope she does art with us more before the end of the semester, because I thought it was really fun. It's so amazing to see people coming together and doing something out of their normal routine. People are trying different and new things while in this program. I think this is because we are able to live in the same building, we can reach everyone so easily. It has really allowed myself, and others to gain really strong friendships.
I am definitely going to miss everyone when the semester is over, but I will stay in touch with the friends I have made.
I guess I'll be ending on a bitter sweet note today.
TTFN,
Anna
